If You Think Luke Bryan Isn’t Country, He Thinks You’re Ignorant

Luke Bryan has been battling the haters who say he’s “not country enough” for quite some time.

That’s part of the reason he released his song “What Makes You Country,” as sort of a statement song to the trolls.

Luke shares, “You know, if they hear that chorus of the song, ‘I got my dirt road cred when I was 12, on a no-cab tractor hauling hay bales,’ which I did, and still do, and they still wanna call me not country . . . well, they’re just being ignorant.”

The proud dad is also instilling those same country values in his kids.

“When I’m doing hunting shows and posting pictures of us, when I’ve got a 7 year old that can throw a bait-caster half way across a lake, hook a 7 lb bass, that’s me being out there in the country and teaching [them] how to do that,” says Luke.
