Or as we like to call it, “National File for an Extension Day.”
When it comes to doing taxes, how do you measure up to the rest of the population?
In a survey polling 1,500 Americans with the question: “Considering what you GET from the federal government, do you think you pay MORE than your fair share of taxes, LESS than your fair share, or about the right amount?”
6% think they pay LESS than their share, 35% think they pay TOO MUCH, 33% say it’s about right, and 26% say the just don’t know.
What about the other stats? We’re glad you asked!
- 71% had their taxes filed by the beginning of this month.
- 6% admitted to waiting until the night before Tax Day to file.
- 7% claim they actually enjoy doing their taxes each year. (seriously, who are you people?)
Here are the TOP 5 ways we tend to use any money we may get back from our tax refund check:
- Pay off debt
- Add it to our checking/savings account
- Treating ourselves to something nice
- Spending the money on necessities
- Paying for big item needs, like car repairs
Happy Taxing…
