Happy Mother’s Day!

Mother’s Day or as I like to call it, Mom’s Day is this Saturday, May 7th.  What are you getting Mom?

Being that my mom lives in Ohio it’s kind of hard to get her things.  I always make sure I send her a card and call her.  But she is the type of person who would just rather spend time with me, like I am sure most moms would like to do with their kids.

My mom and I have a great but interesting relationship.  We are not the lovey dovey types.  I don’t send cards with very heart felt messages in them, I send ones that say “Happy Mother’s Day…  Your gift is having me for a son.”  Or this years card had a button in it that she could wear.  The button said “congrats on having the #1 son.”

At this point if I didn’t send her a card like that she would think something is wrong.  Our relationship is a lot different than most moms and sons.  I can talk to my mom about anything.  Ever since I left home 10 years ago, I call her everyday to check in on her.  Sometimes our conversations are less than a minute other times we talk for 20 minutes.  Either way, I always make sure to give her a call.

With all that being said, how do you show your mom love and appreciation?
