Gold Is Safe to Eat and Pink Lettuce is a Thing

Food’s not just about nutrition anymore — It’s about upping your Instagram game.

Ever see posts with “Real Gold” sprinkled on a cupcake and think to yourself, “No way that’s actually safe to eat!”

Well, it is. Pure gold is 100% safe to eat, though it’s basically flavorless. Don’t go getting any ideas on grinding up your old gold jewelry to top this year’s birthday cake though (because it’s not pure gold).

What else will zhush up your food, like making a salad super Instagram worthy? Pink lettuce, obviously. Because why not?

It’s actually called pink radicchio and it’s slightly more bitter, but here’s the thing… It costs 5 times more than regular green lettuce.

Someone, please make a pink salad, sprinkle it with gold and send your photo to us.
