NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Winning a free tickets to the Garth Brooks concert at Ascend Amphitheater was a dream come true for some of the fans News 2 met on Monday. The country super star performed at Ascend Amphitheater at 7 p.m. to celebrate both becoming the Tennessee Goodwill Ambassador and the first artist in history to earn seven Diamond certifications in the recording industry. One group of women News 2 spoke to said they became friends after meeting at various Garth Brooks concerts across the country. They were all so excited to win tickets to the free show and meet up in Nashville. “I was doing the happy dance because I’ve been following him since 1989,” said fan Jill Franklin. Franklin told News 2 she credits the country music superstar for saving her life. “I was thinking about suicide and he came on the radio and said suicide is not the answer and that stopped me from thinking about it and I’ve never thought about it sense, “said Franklin.
