Fort Campbell Soldier’s Selfless Reaction Saves a Man’s Life

We’ve all been there . . . driving passed an accident and seeing authorities on the scene, or maybe it’s even time for the clean-up crew and we – like everyone else on the road – are just trying to get to our destination.

However, what happens when we witness the accident; how many of us will stop to offer help?

One of our own community members was in that situation, and the way he reacted saved a man’s life!

SPC Scott Tiosso was on his way home from a movie last summer when he witnessed a motorcyclist and their passenger get hit by a drunk driver.

It was a Friday the 13th he wouldn’t soon forget.

After witnessing the vehicle hit the motorcycle, SPC Tiosso drove his car across traffic to get closer, getting out of his vehicle to get to the injured parties without a second thought for his own safety and wellbeing.

Upon getting to the injured, SPC Tiosso triaged the scene and determined the passenger on the motorcycle wasn’t seriously hurt, and moved on to help the driver of the motorcycle . . . who was NOT doing well.

As a pool of blood filled the pavement, an officer arrived and SPC Tiosso performed an assessment, then ran to grab his First Aid Kit, then promptly applied a tourniquet to the motorcyclist’s leg while the officer applied pressure.

Paramedics on the scene, as well as the surgeons who operated on the victim, all came to the conclusion and agreement that this man would have lost his leg (and very possibly his life) had SPC Tiosso not been there to help.

SPC Scott Tiosso is not just an American Hero, he is a neighborhood hero. He is our HERO.

We were beyond blessed to have SPC Tiosso join us in studio to share his selflessly heroic story, and to share it with Beaver Country.
