Feel Good Story: Work Friends Learn They’re Father & Son

In life there are no coincidences, only Divine Appointments.

Two coworkers were in for the surprise of a life time when they learned their work friendship was deeper than they ever could have imagined.

Nathan Boos had gone through knowing NOTHING about his biological parents, saying, “Growing up I always knew that I was adopted, [but] it just never crossed my mind that I would ever find my parents.”

Though Nathan’s adoptive parents knew who his biological parents were, they never told him because Nathan never asked about them.

Until one day when Nathan’s mom made an interesting comment that he just couldn’t let slide by.  Nathan says, “My mom just happened to come by one day and said ‘well, you’re friends with your dad on Facebook.” He continues, “She just went on my Facebook and went through my friends list and brought up his picture, and I said ‘get out of here.”

Turns out, the gentleman Nathan’s mom pulled up was a guy named Robert Degaro who had worked at Rock Solid Transport in Chippewa Falls, WI with Nathan for the past two years.

Degaro has two other kids with his ex-wife, and said the choice to adopt out Nathan was a difficult decision caused by financial stress.

“Back then I wasn’t much of a dad. His biological mom had chosen the adoptive parents,” Degaro claims.  He continues, “It’s still kind of a shock, and there [are] days I’m not sure exactly what to say or how to act. I mean he is my son, but we didn’t have that father-son relationship growing up, and then we became working partners before we knew who we really were.”

Both Nathan and Robert said they’re stoked to continue growing their friendship.
