Feel Good Story: Watch How a Grandpa Cheered Up His Grandson Before Surgery

Kyu San Jaun is a five year old in Green Bay who was born with a condition where the arteries in his brain were all twisted up and was due to have an operation last week to have it fixed.

Anyone preparing to have a procedure or surgery tends to have some feelings of uneasiness, but a brain surgery would have even the bravest of us scared. Now imagine being a 5 year old about to have brain surgery . . .

Kyu’s grandfather flew into town to be there for his grandson’s surgery, but his presence really did so much more in lifting the 5 year old’s spirits.

Kyu usually accompanies his mom when she does her late night grocery shopping (because that’s when the store is empty), Kyu likes to dance in the aisles of the store.

The night before his surgery, Kyu joined his mom for her midnight shopping trip, but wanted his grandpa to go too. So, grandpa got out of bed and joined them at the grocery store . . . and DANCED in the aisles with his grandson, helping ease Kyu’s mind about his upcoming surgery only hours away.

Also, Kyu needed to have the left side of his head shaved for the surgery, so Grandpa got a matching haircut in solidarity.

Here’s the best news, the surgery wasn’t only a success, but went better than his doctors could have hoped, and they believe Kyu won’t need any other follow-up treatments.

Oh, and that grocery store Kyu and his grandpa danced at, they sent their mascot (a big turkey named Boomer) to the hospital to dance with him, and you better believe Kyu was up and dancing only days after his surgery.
