This is a beautiful story of kindness and love, but it all started because of one horrible human being with an ugly heart . . . so bear with us for a moment (we promise, there is a happy ending).
A single mom with two daughters and a pit bull named Zeus lived in Butte, Montana . . . but when a family friend was visiting (the ugly human being), the friend stole Zeus, the beloved fur baby.
It happened a couple months ago, and the friend (not identified) was arrested in Charleston, West Virginia . . . and Zeus was taken to an animal shelter in the city.
The Kanawha Charleston Humane Association — where Zeus was taken — realized the fur baby was micro-chipped, and began working on efforts to reunite him with his family.
Because Zeus was too big to fly commercial, they team worked with Many Paws Volunteer Transport group to get Zeus back to his family, over 2,000 miles away.
Numerous volunteers offered to drive Zeus across the states, with many bringing him into their homes for the night along the way during the very long road trip.
Each and every volunteer enjoyed Zeus’s company — and both organizations detailed his travels through social media — and six days later (just this past Tuesday), the fur baby was back in his loving family’s arms.
