Feel Good Story: Teen Raises Thousands of Dollars to Donate Hundreds of Toys to Children’s Hospital

‘Tis the season of giving and one Arkansas teen takes this time of year very seriously, because giving to others has become a true tradition.

Hadley Bullard (15) has been raising money since she was nine years old to buy toys for local kids at the children’s hospital in her neighborhood.

The teenager, who has a chronic illness herself, gives to kids in the hospital over the holidays because she just “can’t imagine being in the hospital on Christmas.”

The big hearted teen enjoys being able to go out and pick toys out for kids, then delivers them herself to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

She raises money for toys through asking for donations and fundraising efforts like bake sales and auctions, all through her Instagram account @WhippingUpSweetness.

Hadley was able to raise over $3,000 this year, buying over 300 toys for kids.

She shared, “Last week, we went and did a bunch of shopping, and so we had to bring three cars today to fit them all.”

“I hope that they can get joy and kind of be distracted from anything else that may be going on that they’re dealing with and they can have joy for just a little bit,” Hadley continued.

Hadley also works with another friend to split the donations to send toys to a children’s hospital in Philadelphia, too.
