Feel Good Story: Stranger Gifts His Trade-In to Nursing Student

Kayla Cooper had gone to a dealership in an effort to buy a car, but it ended up walking out in tears.

She’d been working two jobs while putting herself through nursing school, and had been borrowing friends’ cars to get to classes and work. She was really hoping to finally get her own, but found she just couldn’t cover the down payment on the Toyota Corolla she’d been looking at.

Dan Laguardia had been there to trade in his old Scion hatchback for a BMW when he noticed an upset Kayla, someone he’d never met, walk out.

Dan asked the sales guy if he still had the woman’s number and asked him to call her and tell her to come back to the dealership . . . so that he could GIVE her his Scion hatchback.

When Kayla first got back, she didn’t believe the offer. But then, Dan made it all official by signing the title over to Kayla, and handing her the keys.

Of the generous gift to a complete stranger, Dan shares, “If everybody did that for everybody else, we’d be in a much better place.”
