There was suppose to be a convention in New Orleans, Louisiana for the Delta Sigma Theta sorority with about 16,000 people showing up.
Everything was all paid for and ready to go, but when Barry upgraded to a hurricane, plans were cut short.
The convention had thousands of meals left over that weren’t going to be eaten, but rather than let the food go to waste, they donated all 17,000 meals to help hurricane victims.
Because the meals had been prepped ahead of time — before the storm hit — they were ready to go as soon as people needed them.
These ladies took some sour lemons and made the sweetest lemonade their community could have asked for in a time of need.
