Feel Good Story: Salon Manager Gives Owner a Kidney, He Gives Her the Salon

We hear about so many stories of people donating a kidney to someone — be it a family member, friend or complete stranger — and the typical response from the donor is that being able to save someone’s life is a gift in and of itself.

. . . But this “thank you” is NOT so bad either . . .

A woman named Acia Williams has been the head manager of a salon in Washington D.C. for the last eight years, and has always gone above and beyond for the job she loves so dearly.

In 2018, Acia learned her boss and the owner of the salon, Chet Bennett, was dealing with some health issues and in need of a new kidney.

Acia decided to get tested, and it turned out that she was a match.

Spring of 2019 rolled around and the kidney transplant took place, and was proving to be a success.

Now, the two have fully recovered, there haven’t been any signs of Chet’s body rejecting Acia’s kidney, and both are thriving in life and health.

Just recently, Chet decided to say “thank you” to Acia in a truly unbelievable way . . . he gave her the SALON!

After the surgery took place, they were both staying at Chet’s place so his family could care for them both . . . and one day, Chet just looked over at Acia and said the shop was hers.

Acia was now the owner of the salon.

Chet, who owns a couple other salons as well as a beauty school wanted to show his true appreciation for Acia, and he knew how much she loved the salon and had no doubts that it would be in good hands under her ownership.

The salon, now called “A New Image by Acia,” just re-opened this month, and it is truly a dream come true for the new owner.

Acia saved his life by gifting him one of her kidneys, and Chet thought handing over the keys to the salon was the least he could do.
