Feel Good Story: Opposing High School Football Players Pray Together After the Game

Texas is big on high school football, but one game took a back seat to the realities of life.

After a hard fought game, two players from opposing teams came together in a heart-felt and emotional moment of prayer.

Gage Smith approached Ty Jordan after the final whistle blew and asked if the two could pray together for Ty’s mom — who has stage 4 lung AND bone cancer.

Gage told TODAY, “I just wanted to let him know there are other people thinking about him and his family, and let him know he has somebody to turn to.”

It was a moment captured on camera by the wife of Gage’s head coach, a photo which was later passed on to Jordan’s Aunt, who then shared the story to Facebook, as well as Jordan’s mama, Tiffany.  (See the photo HERE)

Tiffany tells, “I was speechless. It made me cry. (Gage) didn’t have to do that. The fact that he took the time to pray with Ty for me, that took my breath away.”

A valid reminder that we are all going through something, carrying something — some heavier than others — so let’s be there for each other . . . love on each other . . . be kind and share hope and encouragement.
