Feel Good Story: New Nurse Becomes New Mom After Adopting Preemie Patient

Call it right place, right time, right person . . . divine intervention . . . God’s plan . . . or just plain meant to be . . .

It was Claire Mills’ (25) second week as a nurse at Methodist Hospital in downtown Houston when she was called into an emergency C-section.

This was back in May when little Jackson Jude was born, and Claire felt an instant connection the moment she locked eyes with the 3-pound, 10-ounce preemie.

“He just felt very familiar to me. I feel like I know him,” Claire told   a Houston news outlet.

The instant connection was such an odd feeling Claire couldn’t shake.

Not long after learning Jackson’s parent’s were going to be putting their newborn up for adoption because they just didn’t have the means to support the little one . . . Claire knew — this was God’s plan.

Claire shared, “I knew I wanted to be a mother, never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I was going to adopt.”

Yet, here she is . . . in the middle of the process to full adopt little Jackson Jude and become his forever Mama.

While she’s excited with this path God has placed before her, she admits that it is “kind of scary at the same time because I’m single [and] just got a house.”

Claire has seen nothing but support from everyone in her life, though, especially her own mother who is thrilled to be helping care for her soon-to-be grandchild.

The new mama nurse also shares, “I know it’s meant to be so I know everything is going to work out.”
