Feel Good Story: Napping Volunteer Raises $40K in Donations in Four Days

In Green Bay, WI, back in 2016, Terry Lauerman walked into the Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary and asked if he could volunteer.

Now 75, Terry’s been there ever since.

It started out with him chilling with the cats and brushing them, then became much more regular of a gig after he retired.

There are no cages in the shelter, so cats just cruise around freely, and hang on the many couches or comfy chairs.

Sometimes Terry falls asleep while snuggling with the fur babies, the man is mid seventies after all, and last week the shelter posted the cuteness to Facebook.

The post with the sweet photos went viral, and garnered the shelter with over $40,000 in donations in only FOUR days!

This is a really big deal, not only for all the help it will offer this incredible shelter, but especially because these are all special needs cats that need to get use to socializing with people in order to be adopted.

No word on the current total in donations, but more than a year’s worth in needed funds as already been raised.

Even though it’s all thanks to Terry and his cuddle-cat-nap, he doesn’t want to accept any credit for it.  He told his local newspaper he, “literally did nothing.”
