Feel Good Story: Man with Ladder Rescues Tenants in Apartment Fire

Talk about right place, right time!

Outside Ocean City, New Jersey was a hair salon that went up in flames. With all of the super-flammable chemicals and items inside, the place was an inferno within minutes.

The building was engulfed in flames, including the fire escape stairs, which is a big deal because there were two guys trapped in their apartment upstairs.

A contracting company owner named Jim Cox shows up out of nowhere with a ladder, and totally saved the guys’ lives.

He’d been driving by with his daughter in the company truck when they saw the horrifying scene, so the two grabbed their 20′ ladder (thank the Lord it was tall enough), and were able to rescue the trapped tenants.

Jim got the two men out only minutes before their entire apartment became full of fire and smoke, but he didn’t want credit for doing what he felt needed to be done, and took off before the local news crew got there.

However, the reporters did figure out who he was and met up with him later on to get his statement. Jim just said he was happy he and his daughter were there and able to help.
