Feel Good Story: Man in Coma Wakes Up, Celebrates Christmas

Ryan Caine (24) of San Diego, CA is a man who LOVES Christmas.

Unfortunately, he didn’t get to celebrate this past year because he had quite the medical scare. Ryan went to the ER with pneumonia, but it turned septic and he almost died.

Doctors put Ryan in a medically-induced coma that lasted almost 7 weeks, really not knowing if he’d ever actually wake up.

Ryan did wake up, and got to go home just last week. Get this — the FIRST thing he said when he woke up was, “Did I miss Christmas?”

Not only is Christmas Ryan’s favorite holiday, but his parents live on a street locals lovingly call “Christmas Card Lane,” because everyone on the block goes all out with their decorations.

His mom assured him that he shouldn’t worry about. When they pulled up to the house, not only did Ryan see that his parents house was still decorated, inside and out, but all of the neighbors put their decorations back up as well, caroling in the street included!
