Feel Good Story: Hospital Puts on Prom Night for Patients

Patients at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta had a night to remember when hospital staff and volunteers threw them a PROM!

Earlier this month, the hospital’s Zone underwent a prom transformation for the sixth annual Zone teen prom – complete with tunes, a photographer, food, and even twinkling lights.

The hospital’s public relations coordinator, Ayana Isles, shared, “The Zone at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is where our patients come to put their cares behind them and have fun, including parties and other special events.”

It takes a year for staff and volunteers to plan, organize and execute the dance for the teens, but share it’s all worth the work.

Volunteer Carrey Burgner said, “These children come through that door. They have smiles on their faces. They forget that they’re sick for just a few minutes. … It’s amazing.”
