Wow . . . just, WOW!
Kevin Booth is a 32 year old homeless man, living on the streets of Tacoma, Washington.
A few months ago, we was waiting for his local food bank to open when he noticed a brown paper bag on the ground. Kevin picked it up, looked inside . . . and saw CASH staring back at him – $17,000!!
Supposedly, someone left it there as a donation for the food bank.
Kevin could have easily made a selfish choice and keep all of the money for himself, and not sure anyone would have condemned him for it. He, himself, was a man in need after all.
That’s not what Kevin did at all. He continued to wait for an employee to show up and open the food bank, and handed the bag full of money over immediately.
The food bank reported the found money to the police, who then put a 90-day hold on the cash to see if anyone claimed it. Well, 90 days later, no one claimed it, and it was handed back to the food bank, who will be using the money for much needed renovations and to expand the space they’re in to help more people.
For his honesty and kindness, Kevin did receive some of the money in the form of gift cards, and the police gave him a commendation for his selfless actions.
