Feel Good Story: Homeless, Malnourished Dog Finds Forever Home Thanks to Storm Blowing Open a Front Door

Sometimes humans adopt a fur baby . . . other times, the fur baby adopts the humans.

A 9 year old, homeless dog wandered into a Philadelphia home after strong winds from a storm blew the front door open . . . and now she lives there.

The home belongs to a popular sports podcast host, and it was his wife who first noticed their furry visitor.

In surveillance video, you can see the homeless, malnourished fur baby coming down the street, then walking inside the open door to the house.

About half an hour later, an stranger notices the door is open and calls inside to make sure everything is OK, then kindly shuts the door, assuming it was the wind and there was nothing foul afoot.

The family got the pup inside a pen and reached out to animal control in the morning to figure out what to do, but ended up taking the fur baby to see a veterinarian themselves to see it had a microchip — which she wasn’t.

The family decided to give the 9 year old pup a forever home with them, named her Suzy . . . and others have even asked how they could help her, too.

Suzy has some recovering to do from her life on the streets — fleas . . . ticks . . . a heart murmur . . . and other ailments.

As of earlier this week, folks have donated more that $19,000 to help Suzy make a full recovery . . . and any funds leftover will be donated to help other animals in need.
