Feel Good Story: Gary Sinise Treats 1,000 Kids to Disney World

Many kids who’d lost a parent, killed while serving in the military, were treated to a very magical trip during Christmas, all thanks to actor Gary Sinise, when he treated them to a trip to Disney World.

Over 1,000 Gold Star children and their surviving parents traveled to Disney World as part of the Gary Sinise Foundation Snowball Express program — about 1,750 people in all.

On his website, Gary explains that the holidays can be especially challenging for grieving families, and the foundation hopes to inspire them to believe anything is possible, no matter where they are in their grieving process.

Of the importance of the foundation, Gary shares, “letting the children know that we do not forget their sacrifices and we honor them. And it’s such a great feeling to see them healing, smiling, and having fun.”
