Feel Good Story: Firefighters Shovel Family’s Driveway After Home Birth

Expectant parents Scotty and Cassy Abram had just returned from the hospital when it looked like their son, Scotty Jr. wasn’t quite ready to make his debut in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Kid was probably like, “Nah, Ma . . . it’s too cold. I’m staying in here.”

Looks like the hospital should have had the couple wait a little longer because after getting home, and within minutes of calling for first responders, Scotty found himself delivering the baby, with the help of EMTs who even let the new dad cut the umbilical cord.

The EMTs got Mama and Baby all bundled up and on the stretcher to head to the hospital, and “Dr. Dad” was ready to roll, the crew went outside to hop in the ambulance, but when the walked out the door into the cold they saw a very heartwarming scene!

Some of the firemen were finishing up shoveling the new family’s long driveway.

It’s kindness like this that make the world feel more like a community.
