Feel Good Story: Firefighters Man Gas Station After Cashier Is Rushed off in an Ambulance

Firefighters are some of the bravest people out there, and more often than not, you will find them going above and beyond the call of duty by showing an exceptional amount of kindness to complete strangers.

There was a gas station attendant in Alto, Michigan who started feeling very ill during his shift, so he called his boss to request extra help. The cashier, named Elliot, just kept feeling sicker and sicker and ended up calling 911 to get an ambulance to come get him and take him to a hospital.

The firefighters arrived and were tending to the gentleman until the ambulance arrived to take him to seek medical help, but when it was time for Elliot to go, his coworker still hadn’t arrived.

There were still customers around and more walking into the store, so a couple firefighters decided to be the man’s relief and tended to the gas station until another coworker arrived.

One of the firefighters shared, “[The customers] weren’t pushy and upset. We weren’t doing anything. They literally just wanted to get some snacks and get on the road. So I felt bad and thought we could help them out.”

Elliot didn’t even know the firefighters had stayed behind to man the store until his coworkers showed him video from the surveillance cameras the next day.

No doubt, Elliot was beyond grateful for the incredible kindness.
