Feel Good Story: Donations to Help Teen See the World Before He Goes Blind

There’s a 15 year old in Chicago, named Josh Bangert, who recently noticed some blurry vision in his left eye.

Thinking he needed glasses, he went to the eye doctor, but what they found was something more – Lebers hereditary optic neuropathy.

The diagnosis means Josh is going blind, and there is nothing medical professionals can do about it. His vision could be completely gone as soon as the end of this year.

That’s when Josh decided to create a bucket list of all the things he’d like to see before his vision is completely gone – like, a visit to Niagara Falls and seeing and NBA game in person.

Now, hundreds of random strangers are coming together to help Josh accomplish his goals before it’s too late, by stepping up and donating over $37K!!

Josh doesn’t know how much time he has left to see everything on his bucket list, so he’s hit the ground running to see whatever he can, while he still can.

Last week, he had court-side seats to the Bulls game last week, got to water ski for the first time, and late last week, Josh flew to California to see the mountains and the ocean.

All possible, thanks to the kindness of strangers.

Any money left over from Josh’s sight-seeing trips will go towards medical expenses and research.
