Feel Good Story: Delivery Driver Shovels Customer’s Stoop While Delivering Package

Doorbell cameras . . . catching the bad, the funny, and the absolutely fantastically good!

In Michigan, a doorbell camera caught a FedEx delivery driver dropping off a package, but that wasn’t all he did while there.

Jodi LaFreniere, the recipient of the package, told a news outlet she received an alert on her phone from her doorbell camera while working at the school where she teaches kindergarten.

Her fiance was teaching in Alaska, so Jodi was curious who would be at her house at the time, so she pulled up her front door app to see what was going on.

That’s when Jodi saw — it was a Fed Ex delivery driver SHOVELING SNOW FROM HER FRONT PORCH!

Video shows the driver carrying the package to the front porch, but then stops once he sees all the snow covering the whole porch.

Noticing a shovel near the front door of the home, the delivery driver sets down the package, picks up the shovel and goes to town removing the snow.

Jodie had never had any interactions with the FedEx delivery driver, but her fiance Rodney has chatted with him numerous times as he’s usually at home when deliveries are made.

Rodney said the driver’s name is Melvin J. Marlett, and has been working with FedEx for the past 23 year and is a truly “great guy.”

Jodi was even able to connect with Melvin through a mutual friend on Facebook to thank him for his kindness!

Even FedEx, as a company, caught wind of the act of kindness from one of their employees and even shared the story as well, offering a statement, “FedEx is proud of the many contributions our team members make to the communities we serve every day. We commend our courier, Mel Marlett, who went above and beyond to help shovel snow for our customer while making a delivery.”

For Melvin, the delivery driver, he just sees hi act of kindness as something that should be routine, stating, “I would hope it’s something that anybody would have done. If you take care of your customers, they take care of you.”

Check out a photo of Melvin’s kindness HERE.
