Feel Good Story: Customers Dress Up as Beloved Retired UPS Driver for Halloween

The impact of human interaction and kindness is palpable, and lasting.

Jerry Bollinger has been a UPS Driver in Palos Verdes, California for the last 40 years, until he retired this past week.

He had started letting his customers know he’d be retiring and that October 31 would be his last day on the job. The customers on his route loved Jerry so much, they gave him a pretty cool farewell.

Along Jerry’s route is an office where the employees really get into Halloween, and this year they all went as Jerry!

Using his picture, they made cardboard cutouts of Jerry’s face to wear as masks, bought UPS hats & jackets (or made their own).  It all started with one office, but as word spread of the plan, a bunch of other customers wanted to join in, too.

For some unknown reason, Jerry’s last day was moved up to October 30, so the costumed crew donned their Jerry looks a day earlier.

When Jerry showed up for his final delivery with them, everyone was waiting outside to surprise ans cheer Jerry on.

Check out the incredible photos HERE.

But wait, there’s more!  The Jerry doppelgangers also started a retirement fundraiser for him, bringing in about $4,500, leaving their beloved UPS driver “flabbergasted” by the whole thing.
