When littering is for a good cause, we don’t anyone would fault and fine this couple for their good deeds.
Cathy Maralone and Carl Buchanon have been worried about members in the South Bend, Indiana homeless community and others being stuck out in the cold this winter . . . so they’re doing something to help.
The couple have been taking old coats and gloves they don’t need anymore and putting them in different spots around town for anyone to use as EMERGENCY winter wear.
They’ve been tying coats to trees and telephone poles with signs attached that say, “If you are stuck in the cold, please take this.”
Their first round of coats they put out were gone within a day, and now the couple is asking people to donate more so they can keep putting them around town for people in need of some warmth.
Another round of coats and gloved will be dropped off around town over the weekend, and they’re hoping to inspires others around the country to start doing the same thing in their communities.
