When it comes to giving thanks this past Thanksgiving, one Denny’s server in Galveston, Texas didn’t have to look to hard to determine where her gratitude lies.
Adrianna Edwards used to have to walk to get to her job, 14 miles away.
The trek would take her more than four hours a day to get to work, but to Adrianna, it was more of a thing where “you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do.”
Adrianna was stashing some money away to buy a car, but she still had quite away to go.
A couple who frequented that particular Denny’s location, learned about Adrianna’s routine travel to get to work and wanted to help her out.
The couple (who requested to stay anonymous) went into the diner chain last Tuesday for breakfast, left for a couple hours, and then returned with a 2011 Nissan Sentra they had just bought.
Adrianna shared with her local news outlet, “I still feel like I’m dreaming. Every two hours, I come look out my window and see if there’s still a car there.”
Now, it only takes her about 30 minutes to get into work.
The couple’s only request in return? For Adrianna to pay it forward to others in need, which she wholeheartedly intends to do.
