Feel Good Story: Couple Adopts Niece’s Kids to Keep Siblings Together

A couple outside WDC recently stepped up to help family, when no one else would.

Karen and Tyrone Mack are both 55 yeas old, with adult kids and an empty nest. They thought their childrearing days had come to an end, when family needed their help.

Sadly, they have a niece with a serious drug problem who also struggles with mental illness, who is also a mother of five, with kids ranging in age from 2-10 years old.

Three years ago, the children were about to be taken away from their mother, who just couldn’t care for them anymore, and get put into the foster care system. Not only would they be taken away from their mom, but it was highly likely the siblings would be split up.

Karen and Tyrone couldn’t bare to see that happen, and decided to take in all five kids, and have since dedicated their lives to raising them.

Just this past weekend, things became official by adopting all five kids.
