Feel Good Story: A Layaway Item Gets Paid Off for a Special Woman

We love any chance we get to highlight a Feel Good Story that’s local, and Fletch’s mom experienced a wonderful act of kindness we usually only hear about during the winter holidays!

On April 1st, Fletch’s mom went to a furniture store in Gallatin, TN and found a recliner she absolutely fell in love with and put it on layaway.

Earlier this week, she went in to pay off the rest of the cost, which was around $400, plus a $25 fee to have her old furniture hauled off.

When Fletch’s mama handed the sales associate helping her two checks, one for the chair and the other for the haul-off fee, she was handed back the $400 check.

Turns out, the recliner had already been paid in full and it would be delivered later that day.

The random act of kindness from a complete stranger brought tears to Fletch’s mama’s eyes and she even needed to sit down for a moment. She just couldn’t believe someone did that for her.
