Feel Good Story: 98 Year Old Walks 6 Miles to Wife’s Bedside Every Day

98 year old Luther Younger has always been an avid walker, but now has even more reason to get up and go.

His bride of over 50 years, Waverly is paralyzed and was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2009.  She’d been hospitalized for the past couple weeks, but Luther has not gone a single day without seeing his wife.

He walks 6 miles to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY, every day, rain or shine, to be by his bride’s side.  Of his wife, Luther says, “She’s the best cup of tea I ever had… I ain’t nothing [without Waverlee].”

Their daughter Lutheta always offers to give her dad rides to the hospital, but he often just wants to get out the door and to the love of his life and gets too antsy waiting.

So, Lutheta decided to start a GoFundMe page to raise money for rides and other medical expenses.  After just 24 hours, the page already raised over $20,000!!
