Feel Good Story: 8 Year Old’s Lemonade Stand for Friend with Cancer

Any story of people doing good deeds, showing kindness, or overcoming struggles with a showcase of strength really gives us THE FEELS!

Recently, Christian, an 8 year old from Florida wanted to have a lemonade stand to raise funds for his family friend battling an aggressive form of childhood cancer.  So, off he and his mom, Dawn Redmon, went to Home Depot to get supplies to build the lemonade stand.

The mother-son team called their local Home Depot with what they were wanting to do, with the hope they’d consider making a donation or giving them a discount on supplies.  They agreed to donating supplies, but when Christian and Dawn showed up to pick up their supplies, they got a huge surprise from the kind-hearted Home Depot employees.

Dawn says, “I thought I was going to pick up the discounted supplies. And it was a big, sturdy and beautiful lemonade stand.”

That’s right, the Home Depot employees not only donated the materials needed for the lemonade stand, they went ahead and built it for Christian.

“My heart is so full and I am so touched by the AMAZING ladies at Home Depot who made this possible…” Dawn wrote on her Facebook, including pictures on the post.
