Feel Good Story: 7 Year Old Tennessean Gives Lucky Pennies to Police

Kameryn Chebetar is a 7 year old in Franklin County, Tennessee with a big heart and a calling to encourage others.

He’s on a mission to hand out “lucky pennies” to officers for an extra boost of luck as they serve and protect the community.

Kameryn told a local news outlet, “[The penny is] for luck so they can get home safely.”

There’s even a poem that’s included with each penny Kameryn gifts to the officers that reads:

“Many times in life you just need a little luck.

If the path you’re on is bumpy,

Or you’re simply feeling stuck.

When you’re up against a challenge,

Or have something big to face,

This lucky little penny

May be your saving grace.”

Kameryn’s mom, Starr, shares, “Every year we try to do something to give back and this year it was his turn to kind of make a choice and he said he wanted to do something for police.”

The police officers in Franklin County were so grateful for the Kameryn’s kindness, they wanted to do something special for the young man with dreams of a career in law enforcement . . . They gifted him with his own coin AND a badge!

Officer Kameron Bolin, whom Kameryn is beyond thrilled to share a name with, explains, “There is so much bad and negativity . . . To shed a little positivity on us, makes us feel really good.”

There have hundreds of pennies gifted to authorities, and the mother-son duo have even been getting requests for their “lucky pennies” to be sent to police departments all over the country!
