Feel Good Story: 13 Year Old Trades in XBOX, Buys Mom a Car

While a lot of parents are battling their kids on how much video game time is acceptable, one mom was blown away by the kindness of her own son.

Krystal Preston’s son William may only be 13 years old, but he’s wise beyond his years with a capacity for selflessness many twice his age still lack.

The single mother of three human kids and three fur babies had been struggling to make ends meet with no means of transportation.

William, the eldest of Krystal’s kids will do yard and house work for people in their community for some extra money to help his mom out, but one day, as he was scrolling through Facebook, he came across a post of someone selling a 1999 Chevrolet Metro.

“I saw on YouTube where people get their mom a car and the surprise her with it; [and] I wanted to do that,” William shared.

The 13 year old continues, “It was really cheap so I asked [Mom] if I could trade in my Xbox . . . and, at first she said ‘no,’ and then she thought about it, and then she said ‘yes.'”

Sure enough, William was able to surprise his mom with a car.

Krystal said, “At my lowest point, here comes my son,” continuing, “Everybody goes through rough patches in their life, but there’s good that can come from any situation as long as somebody with a heart does it.”

The original owner of the car picked up William and Krystal, and drove them to see the vehicle.

Krystal caps the beautiful story off by sharing, “I lost it. I bawled so bad. I was just like, ‘There’s no way.’ What 13 year old do you know buys their mom a car. I don’t know any, never heard of any. I can’t even express it, like, there’s no words that can express my gratitude and how proud I am.”
