Eric Church Teases New Song in Spoken Word Video

In true bad*** Eric Church fashion, the country-rocker with the cool shades and fierce leather jacket posted a spoken word video, conveying the trying times we’re currently going through that is the COVID-19 pandemic.

The video starts with video clips of empty streets, public transportation with no riders, empty stadiums and concert venues . . . then moves to concerts with people in the seats . . . lights down with nothing but cellphone flashlights lighting up arenas.

At the beginning of the spoken word video, Eric Church says, “Where there once were roars, now there are just echoes. The handshakes and the hugs of yore are now too dangerous.”

He continues, “But I don’t believe in fear. I don’t believe in panic. I don’t believe, in all its complexity, this damn virus has any idea what it’s up against: the American resolve.”

Church promises that everything we’re going through right now is only temporary . . . because Americans will prevail.

His emotion gets ramped up, lighting the fire under all of us to stay strong, because the “best is yet to come. We shall rage. We shall roar. I cannot wait to see you again — through my Ray Bans,” and boom, our ear holes are hit with a tease of his new song, “Through My Ray Bans” as crowds are showcased in the true form of community and togetherness right there along with him.

Eric Church sings the lyrics, “Everybody’s got their arms around everybody else’s shoulders, guarding against the world outside like an army of Friday night soldiers . . . The battle wages tomorrow, but tonight we’ve got a drink in our hands . . . wish you could stay the way I see you through my Ray Bans.”

This video . . . the new song . . .  it is everything we wanted and needed from him during these trying times.

Dear Eric Church, Thank you for being you!
