Do You or Have You Ever Lived in a Haunted House?

While Fletch doesn’t believe in ghosts, he does acknowledge there are some things that just can’t be explained.

Jai, on the other hand, is a straight up believer.

Have you ever lived in a haunted house? We’re not talking about the beloved Halloween attractions. We mean, a legit bone-chilling-someone-else-is-in-the-room-but-nobody-is-around haunted house.

According to a new survey, 1 out of 3 men and 1 out of 5 women believe they’ve lived in a haunted house at some point in their lives.

The majority of people say the didn’t realize the place was haunted until after they moved in, though 15% answered they’d totally be cool with moving into a house that was haunted if it meant it cost less than its non-haunted counterpart.

The survey also noted the Top Three Signs that give people the impression they’re living somewhere haunted:

  1. 54% in the survey answered – Strange noises
  2. 45% answered – Getting an odd feeling in certain rooms
  3. 34% said – Their pets start acting weird

He All, Jai here . . .

As odd as it might sound, I don’t necessarily believe I’ve ever lived in an actual haunted house, but there have been . . . visitors.

I’ve had my fair share of experiences to share enough ghost stories to last a lifetime (and then some), but the only location I’ve ever felt was truly haunted was an apartment I almost lived in.

It was move-in day when I kept having these weird feelings that someone was standing over my shoulder. Then I would hear kids carrying on and running up and down the hall outside the apartment door, but when I would look there would be nothing. Once of the movers then mentioned to me that the apartment building used to be a hospital wayyyyy back in the day, and while this was creepy enough for me to learn given what I’d already been experiencing, what had me leaving before ever even staying  night (for real, I never even spent one night in that unit), was when I was walking to my car in the parking garage and heard someone run up behind me, but when I turned around no one was there. I turned back around to continue walking and as I turned it was like someone was in my face and shout-whispered “Go!”

Legit. I have goosebumps just reliving it in my mind. Fortunately there was a slight overlap from the apartment I was moving out of and the apartment I was moving into and was able to stay in my previous apartment longer while I found a new place to live.

Have you ever lived someplace that was haunted?  We can’t wait to hear your story! Share it on the Beaver 100.3 Facebook Page.
