Would you consider yourself as having a career . . . or just a job — and how would you define the difference?
According to a new survey from CareerBuilder, the answers were split right down the middle.
50% of people said they feel like they have a career, while the other 50% say “it’s just a job.”
32% of people in the survey also admitted to planning on landing a new job this year.
Alternatively, on the side of employers, 66% of companies say they’ve hired someone and that person just NOT show up . . .
There’s an old saying of “the difference between a job and a career is a 50 hour work week,” but that theory doesn’t hold up. A lot of people have a career working less than 40 hours a week, and plenty of people would consider their job as a job and not a career and are working all day err day 7 days a week.
