Date Ideas for a Super Not Awkward First Date This Valentine’s Day

Have someone you only recently starting talking to/dating and your first date is going to be a Valentine’s Day date?

Yeah, first dates are awkward, then you toss in the added pressure of Valentine’s Day and this may be a first date that is just too much pressure. We have some tips to help make your first date a lot less awkward this V-Day . . .

1. Hit a up a Karaoke Bar – Even if you don’t sing, just watching other people is enough for a good night, and who knows, you may even feel up to it later in the night and can rock a duet together.

2. Check out a Comedy Club – At the show you won’t feel super forced to interact with each other, plus you can see if your senses of humor match up before going on the second date.

3. Take in a Museum – What’s great about going to a museum is that it gives you the option to talk to each other a bunch without it being forced.

4. Go Bowling or Ice Skating – It’s super chill and casual, takes the awkward date pressure off since it’s something people do with their friends anyway, AND it also opens the door for a little physical contact when it seems right without overthinking it. (High five, anyone?)

5. Play at an Arcade – It’s fun, playful and competitive. . . just don’t “let” the other person win, because that’s never fun for anyone. Arcading it up can remind you of fun childhood memories you can share with each other.  Jai had a first date with an ex boyfriend at an arcade and says it was the most fun and least awkward first date she’d ever had.
