This weekend, October 1st, a park in Muhlenberg County will be dedicated to Country Music Legend John Prine.  Prine passed away in 2020 due to Covid.

The park will be at the Rochester Dam, which John talks about in his song Paradise. There is already an existing park there but it needed some improvements and with the improvements comes a name changed.  The improvements are a new boat ramp, more parking, a picnic pavilion, new playground equipment and landscaping improvements, according to WSMV 4.

The song ‘Paradise’ which talks about the Rochester Dam, Prine wrote the song for his father.  The town of Paradise sits on the Green River.
