Clarksville Sportsfest offers free day of sports and athletics

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The City of Clarksville’s Parks and Recreation Department will host its sixth-annual Sportsfest Saturday, August 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center. Sportsfest will offer a variety of sports, athletic, and outdoor activities for the entire family. Clarksville Sportsfest is a celebration of sports and athletics in Clarksville and the surrounding area and features not only sports demonstrations and interactive areas, but also an exposition area where a wide variety of Clarksville and Montgomery County’s athletic and outdoor clubs, businesses and organizations will come together in one location. Attendees can rotate through over 10 sports demonstrations of their choosing to get hands-on experience in learning a new sport like Parkour, Rugby, Scuba, Lacrosse, and more. Kids can compete in the Wiffle Ball Challenge from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. as part of Major League Baseball’s “PLAY BALL SUMMER” initiative focused on exposing children to the sport of baseball.
