Clarksville Cars Only Need 4 Lug Nuts, Not 5 Like Most Cars

I was driving down Fort Campbell Blvd over the weekend and a car that pulled up beside me caught my attention.  It caught my attention for many reasons but there was one specific thing that make me look twice.

It was the front-passenger tire that I couldn’t look away from.  I kept looking, trying to figure out how the tire wasn’t ready to fly off.  As you can see by the picture, the tire requires 5 lug nuts but this person thought 4 would be just fine.

Now, before the mechanics jump on here and say the car will run fine with just 4.  Yes, I am sure it will but for how long?  There is a reason for 5 lug nuts.

I think I figured it out, with gas being so high this person was probably trying to reduce the weight of the car for better gas mileage.

Just know, that when you see a tire rolling down the road not attached to a car, 5 lug nuts is the way to go.
