A report from the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, Maddie was trying to avoid running over a drainage ditch and overcorrected, running the ATV she was driving into a pond. Jamie Lynn Spears and her husband, Jamie Watson, along with other family members, were about 100 yards away when Maddie crashed; it is not known if Britney Spears was among those at the scene.
