Breaking: Granger Smith badly injured during weekend show

Granger Smith was injured Friday night (12/2) while performing a show at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey. According to a rep, Granger was standing on a monitor when it gave way, bringing Granger crashing off the stage into a metal barricade. Smith did managed to get up and finish the set through excruciating pain, which ended with the crowd singing “Backroad Song.” After visiting a nearby Emergency Room, he was transferred and admitted to a Level 1 trauma center in New Brunswick, NJ and doctors confirmed two completely separated, broken ribs and a punctured and partially collapsed lung. All shows and appearances through the weekend were canceled and further information about subsequent shows will be forthcoming. Granger tweeted Saturday night (12/3): “I took a pretty hard spill last night in Jersey. Thx for the well wishes! Y’all mean the world to me. I’ll be out of the hospital & 100% soon!” https://twitter.com/GrangerSmith/status/805089119529566209?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw https://twitter.com/NJCountryBoy82/status/805097687108517890
