Bogus story circulates about Forrest Gump sequel in Clarksville

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW.COM) A fake news story that has been making the rounds on social media has fooled a few Clarksville residents. The headline, from the website KYPO 6 NEWS reads “Forrest Gump Sequel Will Film in Clarksville, Tennessee,” and goes into great detail on the name of the sequel, script development and states it will “be filmed primarily in Clarksville, Tennessee next summer.” There is no truth to the story and there is no credible evidence that there is a planned sequel to the 1994 blockbuster. KYPO 6 News admits that most articles on the site are satire or pure fantasy. Nonetheless, ClarksvilleNow.com received messages about the filming, some readers upset that we did not carry the story. As is usually the case, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.
