LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Nevada sheriff says one on-duty officer is in critical condition and another was wounded in the Las Vegas concert shooting that left more than 20 people dead. Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo says two off-duty officers have died. Several officers from California were attending the outdoor Route 91 Harvest Music Festival on Sunday when a gunman opened fire. A Bakersfield Police officer was shot and taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Authorities have not released any of their identities. More than 100 people were injured. Lombardo says the suspect is dead. The sheriff says they believe this was a “lone wolf” attack but said they are looking for a roommate of the dead suspect as a person of interest. There were several long bursts of gunfire, with long pauses in between while the shooter was reloading. The shots came from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay. The SWAT team had to use explosives to breach the room and take him out. The suspect was killed by that SWAT team . . . and he was a local resident. The cops were still looking for his female companion last night.
Jason Aldean posted a statement to confirm he’s okay. Quote, “Tonight has been beyond horrific. I still don’t know what to say but wanted to let everyone know that Me and my Crew are safe. “My Thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved tonight. It hurts my heart that this would happen to anyone who was just coming out to enjoy what should have been a fun night. #heartbroken #stopthehate” https://www.instagram.com/p/BZvRZnogBrI/?hl=en&taken-by=jasonaldean
