Are You Excited For Cobra Kai Season 5?

Screen Rant reported several days ago that the hit Netflix series Cobra Kai is coming back for a 5th season.  It will be released on Netflix September 9th.

What’s funny to me is, this show started on YouTube Red and it was so successful Netflix picked it up and turned it into 5 seasons.

When it first came out on YouTube Red I didn’t think anything of it.  I will be honest though, I never really watched any of the Karate Kid movies up to that point.  Once the show caught some buzz and made it to Netflix I figured I would give it a shot.  I am glad I did because it is a very good show, it also made me watch the Karate Kid movies.

But if you have never seen the Karate Kid movies, that is ok, as the show moves along and they reference things from previous movies, they show old clips and explain things.

I have watched interviews with Ralph Macchio talking about how people have been coming to him for years wanting to do reboots and such but he always turned them down.  There was just something about this series and how it was written that made him finally jump on board.

Yes, the nostalgia of Ralph, William Zabka and John Kreese are cool but these new actors and actresses in the show are the ones really carrying it.  For someone like myself, I started it because Karate Kid has such a great reputation but I continued to watch it because of the new characters that are in the show.

If you are looking for a new show to watch, I suggest this one.  Here is the trailer for season 5…
