Always Get More

There’s always a debate that starts at our house around this time each year.  It has led to a few “heated arguments” and it all revolves around Halloween candy.  That’s right, how much is toooooo much?  I say it’s better to have and not need, than to need and not have.  I remember our first year here, we lived in a sub-division and we thought we had bought enough, just to have my wife call me as I was about to leave work and come home telling….no demanding i stop by, as she said, “any place you can” to get candy.  We had bought probably 7 to 10 bags of Reese’s and Snickers, you know the fun packs that you can get this time of year, just to have run out within a couple of hours, and they were still coming.  Tractors pulling wagons full of kids through the neighborhood begging for candy.  Well after that, it must have scared us because we have lived out in the country for nearly 20 years now, and in that time, we may have had 10 trick-or-treaters come to our door, but each year I want to have like 50 bags on hand…jut, in, case.  Then after Halloween, the stockpile helps this fat boy make it through the dark days of winter, well “sugared and sassy”.  If you want to read more about how Americans feel about having all that candy for Halloween, click here.
