A woodpecker does some real damage! YIKES!

There is a woodpecker in California that has been very busy storing acorns! This California pest control company has been in business for over 20 years — and they have never seen anything quite like this.

Recently, the company was called out to a house that had been experiencing damage from a woodpecker. The bird had made holes in the home’s siding — holes in which to store food for later eating that food was acorns. The acorns were falling into the empty places inside the walls.

The company had to cut into the wall to dig them out. But what they found was epic!

A steady stream of acorns from the hole came pouring out! The acorns just kept coming and coming, nonstop. The Acorns were thought to be only about a quarter of the way up the wall. Turned out, they were piled high up to the attic of the house.” They opened more holes around the house, and acorns kept flowing.

around 700 pounds of acorns spilled out. It was enough to fill eight large trash bags. The woodpecker had been busy. Very busy.

They patched up the holes the woodpecker had made outside the house. The homeowner had the vinyl siding replaced hoping the woodpecker would find a new place to store acorns.

I hope homeowners insurance covers this!
