A Daddy Thing

I guess every dad has them.  You know, those things you want to share with your youngin’.  I did one over the weekend.  You see I grew up around creeks and streams and I was probably just a little older than Moriah when I started wading creeks and playing in watering holes.  Me and my cousins and a couple of best friends of mine, that’s pretty much where you would find us, somewhere near the creek bank doing something.  Well this past weekend, we found ourselves on a little trail with a creek beside it.  This creek is solely fed by a spring that was just about 75 feet from where we were, so it wasn’t like we were down stream from the herd.  Anyway, I told Moriah to take her shoes off and I took mine off.  After a few “what are we doing daddy” questions, we got into the water.  I shared with her how critters live in the water and we might see something which thrilled her to pieces.  Anyway, after a little trepidation at first she waded in and loved it.  I had a hard time getting her out, which trilled me to no end.  Anyway, this was my baby girls first time wading the creek but if I am a good daddy, it won’t be her last.  That’s my Father’s Day memory from the other day.
